The Do’s of Buying CBD rich Hemp Oil

After the 2014 Farm Bill, where CBD products made from Industrial Hemp grown outside of the US became legal for everyone in the US, more and more people have come to learn about the benefits and uses of Hemp oil. The market for hemp-derived products has not even seen the tip of the iceberg, and is set to grow exponentially in years to come.

Although Hemp derived CBD oil has become easily available for people all over the world, because the market is in hyper growth, many are trying to make a business out of it and producers use misleading marketing and deceptive advertising to increase profits.

Would you rather search for a CBD source locally, or to try an online shop that sells hemp oil or other cannabinoid-rich products? I tend to prefer products that have quality assurance and lab testing. Many of the locally produced hemp products that I see locally don’t have this. Regardless of your choice, the first and most important thing to do before you buy any product that contains Cannabidiol is to do your homework and make sure you know what you’re getting.

1. Quality is key, not low prices.

While it’s tempting to grab the most affordable CBD oil you can find online, cheaper isn’t necessarily better.

Google “buy CBD oil” and you’ll get 41,300,000 results. Most of these producers and distributors offer no tangible evidence to support the claim that their products are better.

If you want to make sure you’re getting a safe and effective product, look for a higher concentration of cannabidiol in a product: the more bioavailable the product the more powerful its effects, and thus the wiser the investment.

For example, Elixinol is one of the few companies that provide lab analysis for their products. The company produces a wholesome extract, not an isolate nor a synthetic product. Some of my favorite of their products are their Hemp Oil Liposomes.

Also excellent is Prime My Body’s Nanoenhanced Hemp Oil, which utilizes a unique liposomal delivery system, which dramatically improves the bioavailability of the oil.

Charlotte’s Web has a great every day supplement, which is a great introduction to the Charlotte’s Web proprietary extracts.

2. Beware of products that claim to cure anything.

If you decide to give CBD oil a try, I recommend you learn about the real properties and benefits of cannabinoids. Hemp seed oil and Hemp CBD oil are two different products, and neither of them is “medical marijuana”. Google this, as well as a medical condition, and you’ll find an abundance of resources.

Some people may swear that their hemp oil cures different forms of cancer or has healed patients from anxiety, tumors, diabetes and every ailment out there. Beware of products that make such claims. We can neither diagnose, nor claim to heal, or treat anyone – and CBD oil is a powerful superfood, antioxidant, and nutritional supplement. The evidence of its health effects are growing.

The companies most in line with high integrity are ones that are clear that CBD oil is not a miraculous cure that will make illnesses go away overnight. This supplement is not a drug, nor is it in the category of medical marijuana. What it is, is a powerful dietary supplement with an impressive concentration of CBD, a product that is safe and is obtained through a technology that allows it to retain all the nutrients found in the original plant. It’s the synergistic action of these nutrients that make CBD oil so valuable and beneficial for one’s overall health.

3. Make sure the oil is Non-Psychoactive.

Some of the hemp and marijuana products available on the market contain psychoactive compounds, however Cannabidiol is scientifically proven to be anti-psychoactive, so it’s important to check the label before buying a CBD oil and to choose only products that have no psychoactive effects. Then there is no risk of getting high from these products.

Also be aware that making a good CBD oil that retains only the beneficial compounds from hemp requires a certain technology, and that technology is costly.

Some techniques for extracting Hemp use high heat and/or toxic solvents which are dangerous, unsustainable and don’t extract the full complement of nutrients from the plant. Even worse, they cannot always be fully separated from the end product which is therefore not clean or pure. Look for products that are made with super Critical Fluid extraction, which is a safe, sustainable and superior method. This method uses state of the art equipment by taking harmless Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and compressing it to upwards of 10,000 psi (300 times greater than car tire pressure). At these extremes CO2 becomes ‘super critical’ where it possesses the properties of both a liquid and a gas at the same time. It is also very cold so it does not harm any heat-sensitive nutrients like enzymes or vitamins. This super critical fluid is an exceptional non-toxic solvent. When added to a nutrient rich Hemp it fully liberates the entire treasure of phytonutrients hidden within. The CO2 is then released and recycled leaving a highly concentrated, totally pure extract that is more easily digested and assimilated.

And remember, as is the case for all dietary supplements:
